Theta rhythm (emotion) and the alpha rhythm (attention)
Jordi Mas i Manjón, Ph.D., is an independent researcher and founder of the Corpus Project, a long-term Structural-Operative research programme developed continuously in Barcelona since 1975. His work has been devoted to the study of complexity, cognition, consciousness, knowledge organization, and the structural conditions governing human and artificial intelligence.
Conceived as a lifelong interdisciplinary investigation, the Corpus Project seeks to identify invariant structures, operative principles, and transformational processes underlying observation, organization, knowledge production, and adaptive behaviour across multiple domains of reality. Over more than five decades of uninterrupted research, the project has generated an extensive body of theoretical studies, conceptual architectures, methodological proposals, taxonomies, and documentary analyses.
The research integrates contributions from neuroscience, cognitive science, systems theory, psychometrics, philosophy, complexity studies, and artificial intelligence. Particular attention has been given to the development of Structural-Operative models capable of describing relationships between structure, transformation, emergence, and cognition without reducing complex phenomena to isolated disciplinary frameworks.
Most of the documents and preprints available through this profile belong to the Cognitive Corpus and were originally produced between 1975 and 2015. The dates displayed by Academia.edu generally correspond to the upload or revision date on the platform and do not necessarily reflect the original date of authorship.
The Corpus constitutes the central axis of the author's intellectual activity and represents the result of more than fifty years of continuous independent research. Current work focuses on the consolidation, formalization, editorial organization, and publication of the Corpus as a unified scientific legacy and as a framework for future studies on cognition, consciousness, complex systems, and human-AI interaction.
